What Is Acid Rain
Acid Rain is rain that has high levels of hydrogen in it making it very acidic. It has been known to put organisms in life threatening positions and causes downfall in industry.

The History of Acid Rain
The first records of acid rain go back to the 17Th century which was done by John Evelyn. Since the industry has grown, there have been increases of emissions causing increased acid rain. In 1852, Robert Angus Smith proved that acid rain had connections to pollution in the atmosphere. Even though the discovery of acid rain was discovered in 1852, scientists didn't start research until the late 1960’s which is when they started to observe it and study it. The name ‘’ACID RAIN’’ was given by the same man who discovered then connection between acid rain and atmospheric pollution. The awareness of acid rain became so when the new York times which had gained its knowledge of acid rain from the Hubbard Experimental Forest in new Hampshire, America which surveyed the environmental effects of acid rain.

The Cause of Acid Rain
The cause of acid rain is that to many hydrogen atoms combine with rain clouds and causes it to have a very acidic effect. Other reasons for this is carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide which mixes with the water making it acidic. These gases come from industrialized areas and are caused by machines that are used to create everyday items.

Solutions to Acid Rain
Some solutions to acid rain are to decrease the release carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide by trying to find ways to change machines so that they will not release these gases. This will help the atmosphere decrease in pollution.we could also stop acid rain by conserving energy, what this does is stops the amount of pollutants entering the atmosphere.
